She has a bachelors degree in sociology with a focus on criminology and deviant behavior. She also has a masters of education with a preliminary administrative credential.
Ms. Roxanna loves teaching and believes that academics are very important, but even more valuable is her ability to establish a classroom environment that promotes respect and recognition of students' diverse gifts, strengths, and knowledge. Her class motto is "Be Gentle, Be Kind, Be Compassionate." She believes it is importance for her students to practice this towards themselves, others, animals, the earth, and even with objects. Providing students with a classroom environment that promotes safety, respect, healthy and accurate communication, and healthy problem solving skills, ensures that students excel both academically and socially. Ms. Roxanna also believes in second chances and the importance of nurturing a child's creativity and curiosity. Students are given many choices and autonomy. She looks forward to a year full of fun and growth!
